In 2017 a music legend traveled to a Virginia jail to make a record behind bars. Our award-winning feature documentary follows hip hop legend SPEECH from Arrested Development, as he records with and learns from four inmates in a makeshift recording studio in the Richmond City Justice Center.
As the creative process unfurls and a chance at freedom draws near, each of these men must unearth painful and poignant memories—keys to their lyrics and a chance at redemption.

The film played over 50 film festivals (winning numerous awards) and hundreds more community screenings through educational and community impact campaigns. It was released theatrically in 5 cities, to VOD on all major platforms, and later adapted to an award-winning podcast for NPR.
