"A Dreamer Awakens."
At Age 7, Sam Ramirez-Herrera left Mexico with her family in pursuit of an American Dream. 30 years later, Sam, like so many other “Dreamers,” finds herself caught between two nations—fully belonging to none.
When a once-in-a-lifetime chance to return to Mexico brings her face to face with the trauma of her past, she’s forced to confront the question: what is home?
No Guarantees.
As both director and subject of a film following a highly personal journey, Samantha’s challenge was bigger than most first-time filmmakers.
As a creative production partner, Resonant took on fundraising, coordinated logistics across borders, and worked collaboratively in the edit to bring her writing and vision to life.
