CARDFUSION RETOUCH - BRUNCH

Clear Confusion.

USAA wanted to show how the stress of "Cardfusion" appears in different situations, showing the variety of ways that people overwhelmed by confusing credit card rewards.

The challenge was filming a series of commercial spots with minimal time. We only had one production day to shoot 5 social spots with 4 unique setups.

Plan, Plan, Execute.

We found a great drive-thru location and then began work on second location that could magically flex into a brunch restaurant, home, and coffee shop. After some detective work, we landed on Banshee, a beautifully appointed restaurant with different colored walls and wooden backroom. We carefully preplanned each setup within this relatively small space, framing out walls here and adding furniture and drapes there.

PXP Studios collaborated extensively on the boards, allowing us to create a detailed shot list and tightly timed run of day. With the art team leapfrogging production and every department hitting their marks, we found a way to capture every boarded frame and call wrap just before sunset. 

The highest form of flattery.

USAA was thrilled with the results and informed us that the campaign was one of their best performing to date with significant increases in App Starts and Site Visits.

The work was good enough that months later, Synchrony Bank made a near frame-by-frame ripoff of our spot.

Forward Rhythm: A Short documentary film that tells the story of Jason Barnes, a drummer who lost his lower right arm after an electrical accident in 2012. Determined to continue pursuing music, Jason teamed up with a group of Georgia Tech researchers to create a custom, TensorFlow-powered drumming arm to keep his musical dreams alive.
